The Dems hang on the the seat in NY-20, with a majority of less than 400 votes amidst over 160,000 cast (.25% margin) in the special election to replace Kirsten Gillibrand. Both parties threw a lot of resources into the campaign.

The special election to replace Kirsten Gillibrand is effectively a dead heat, with the outcome to be determined by absentee ballots, reports the Schenectady Daily Gazette. With 100 percent of the precincts in the congressional district reporting, Murphy led Tedisco by 65 votes out of 154,623 cast, according to The Associated Press.
